If only we could go that fast...

Cory was talking this morning that he would be out of here in a week! Also, he got cards from his sisters. His youngest sister drew this on the back!
Oh, if only these were true!
He is doing good. The pain from the surgery on his neck is slowly subsiding. We now go through the long hard road. He says "I can't" a lot but when left alone with no help, manages to do what he needs.
His walking is getting taller and straighter and he is balancing much better. His cognitive skills continue to get better. They were doing some money and change exercises. Rather than hand the therapist the amount of money, he grabbed a piece of scratch paper to begin calculating change from a $20.00. That is Cory...always trying to go full speed!
Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin gave a talk titled, "Running Your Marathon". In it he talked about life being just like a marathon. That we needed to seek the "aid stations" of others. That we should look to pace ourselves. We don't just decide to run a marathon and immediately do it. There are hundreds of shorter runs to prepare us (or in the case of older ones like myself, hundreds of shorter walks to prepare for the hundreds of shorter runs!). We can't run before we can walk. We need to understand this both physically and scripturally. We need to realize that "We Can!".
Thank you for your continued prayers,
Dave and Linda

  1. I love the picture. I am so glad that there are improvements each day. Please give him a hug and kiss from me and tell him how much I love him.
