So, now we can't get him to shut up....!

I am just kidding! But, since he started talking, he has been talking non-stop....even in his sleep sometimes! He seems very coherent, unless he is tired (which is much of the time!). When he is tired, he is like he used to be...mumbling in his sleep about places to go, and things to do.
Linda's cousin's son (I hate possessive, possessive statements!) got in an accident in June of 2009. He also had a brain injury and thankfully is doing fantastic.
She remarked, "Do you and Linda find yourselves solving all the cognitive questions in your head as the therapist is asking Cory?  There were a couple that I had to really concentrate on in order to follow.  Have they done the memory ones yet?  I wonder... when an over 40 something year old has a brain injury, do they make those easier?"
I had to really laugh, because yes, we do sit there trying to solve them as they are being read. And, yes, I do hope they have an easier book for those of us who are older!
Cory has been rather apprehensive about the surgery on his neck. They are going to fuse two vertebrate together. He was very relieved to find out that his Bishop here in Savannah was going to be his anesthesiologist. He said, "Having the Priesthood in the operating room with me can only be a good thing!".
Also today, the Priests from the Savannah Ward came by with the Sacrament for Cory. He was so grateful this morning to be able to partake of the Sacrament. Thank you to the worthy young men who came, blessed and passed it to him.
We are all spiritually stronger because of this trial. My testimony of prayer and fasting has been solidified. I know that the power of the Priesthood is absolute. And it is through that Priesthood power that our son will be made whole again.
We love you and thank you for your continued prayers on our son's and our behalf.

  3. Glad he is talking. We're all following his progress. Everywhere I go in the stake, everyone asks how Elder Fife is doing. You have a lot of people concerned about you and praying for you.
